Bill Colehauser comes from a long line of gunslingers. His lineage dates back to the old Wild West. Over the years, his ancestors developed and perfected the Colehauser method, a system of drawing and firing a revolver.
Like many members of his family, Bill grew up learning the Colehauser method. Although he is considered the best in the family, he never used his skills for personal profit and gain. Unlike some of his relatives who used their skills to launch themselves into celebrity endorsement deals for various manufacturers of firearms and firearm accessories. Instead, Bill chose to live a quiet life as a rancher.
His land bordered Texas and Mexico. Smugglers began smuggling girls from Mexico to the United States. These smugglers lured young females with dreams of a better life in the United States, but instead, sold them into a prostitution ring run by a biker gang called the Cowboy Outlaws. A smuggler killed a young girl that turned down his sexual advances. He left her to die on Bill’s land. One of Bill’s ranch hands, who is a Mexican-American fluent in Spanish, found her and spoke to her before she died. She told him everything.
Enraged by what happened, Bill Colehauser decided to take the law into his own hands. He donned a cowboy hat, a red bandana over his face, and grabbed an old, “disposable” revolver that had red paint spilled all over it. He waited for the smugglers to return and ambushed them. He forced an English speaking smuggler to tell him everything about the smuggling operation. Bill passed this information to a friend of his, Todd Wilkinson, who is a member of a super powered unit of the Texas Rangers known as The Ranger 6. This enabled The Ranger 6 to bring down part of the smuggling/prostitution ring. The Cowboy Outlaws escaped punishment for their part in the crimes due to corruption present in Texas law enforcement.
News of the masked cowboy with the red revolver spread. A local news anchor referred to him as the Red Revolver vigilante. This, as well as the corruption present in law enforcement, inspired Bill to remain fighting crime outside of the parameters of the law, using his financial resources to acquire the necessary equipment, and going under the name of The Red Revolver.
His friend Todd Wilkinson is aware of his dual-identity, and helps him from time to time. He shares Bill’s same passion for truth and justice.
Abilities and Equipment:
- Bill is a master of the Colehauser Method: a system born in the Wild West and perfected over generations by the Colehauser family. The Colehauser Method includes three parts. These three parts are represented in the family crest by the three bullets underneath two crossing revolvers.
- The first part, and the only part known to the public, involves methods of drawing and firing a revolver with precise accuracy.
- The second part involves tactics and strategies for gun battles.
- The third part involves close quarter fighting techniques that are meant to work alongside a revolver. The originator of the Colehauser Method, Dutch Colehauser, saved a group of Chinese railroad workers from a group of bandits. In return, some of them taught him various styles of Kung Fu. Hank modified these techniques to fit a gun fighter.
- Bill’s costume is fireproof, shock proof, and lined with Kevlar.
- He carries various forms of grenades shaped like the cylinder of a revolver.
- He carries several revolvers of various sizes on his person.
- He uses non lethal rubber bullets and has special explosive head bullets for dealing with super powered enemies.
- He has a revolver that shoots retractable grappling hooks.
