Jeffrey Oyango was rising out of poverty in his native Kenya by playing in international chess tournaments for money. He became obsessed with the game, focusing intense concentration every time he played.
One day while playing at an international tournament, he concentrated so hard that he gave himself a brain aneurysm and ended up dying. This activated his dormant Ambient Gene, resurrecting him and giving him Ambient Dimension based powers.
After gaining his powers, he became obsessed with treating society as one big chess game, looking to out strategize everyone, including society itself at any cost.
His moniker is partly due to his chess Background, his power set, and the after effect of his hair and pupils turning a red color after his transformation into an Ambient Being. He also tattooed a red rook on his forehead.
Abilities: Jeffrey Oyango is an Ambient Being. His cells absorb energy from the Ambient Dimension and convert it into his unique power set.
- He is highly intelligent, especially when it comes to strategy and game theory.
- His feet can glide at super-speed front and back and side to side.
- His joints are extra durable to withstand impact at super speeds.
